NYYANIThe company
Nyoka supported her Mum with the raising of her sisters and brothers, often wishing her Mum could get the support her family needed but, in those days, Aboriginal women did not seek support due to the experiences of racial discrimination and the threat of having their children taken off them.
Although there were experiences of hardship Nyoka and her siblings felt loved, always had a full belly, somewhere warm and safe to sleep – this is one of the best things about being Aboriginal we all care for each other, we show compassion and when one needs support we gather.
Nyoka’s experience ignited a passion in her to support people to feel empowered in their own lives, equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and skills to navigate challenges and create and live the life they want to live – not the life they think they must live.
Through her humble beginnings and life experiences, both personal and professional, Nyoka aspires to support people in breaking the cycles of poverty and disadvantage – fulfilling their purpose in life, feeling connected, loved, and knowing where they belong.
NYYANI is Nyoka’s dream – a business dedicated to the purpose of providing a platform and the tools to positively influence and empower Women, Men, Children, Young People and Elders, Families and Communities.
